in Maine
Recent polling from the Yale
Program on Climate Change Communication indicates most Mainers think global
warming is happening and caused mainly by human activities. While some of
Maine’s resources are vulnerable to climate change, Maine has resources that can
be solutions as well. People in Maine are noticing a changing
climate. New clean energy businesses are starting up. Offshore wind is
blowing. Maine has a new Climate Council.
What do
climate impacts and solutions mean to Mainers?
Lenny Reich is a volunteer member of the
Union of Concerned Scientists Science Network.
From 1986 until his retirement, Professor Reich taught in the Department
of Science, Technology & Society at Colby College. Recently, he has been working on issues
dealing with diet, agriculture, and environmental consequences, including its
effects on climate.
